Food and drink are some of the most important consideration for any holiday destination that you are going to pick. The nourishment is a very important factor to consider as it determines how your holiday will be like when you are in Spain. When food and drink are guaranteed, you will be able to breathe easy. Lunch is the very most important meal of a Spaniards day. It is never a wonder to see businesses closed over lunch so as to be able to enjoy the meal very well. In some instances, people do enjoy siestas after lunch and businesses may re-open as late as five thirty in the evening.

There are ceratin things that Spaniards will never do. The first is that they can never start eating until all the people who are supposed to be included in the meal are seated and ready. They also keep each other company and it is unexpected that anyone leaves the table until all the people who are sitting there are done with their meals. Table manners are quite informal and standard. Sometimes the things that you get to see while the Spaniards are dining will greatly depend on the place where you are eating. When you are billed, the money is split equally amongst everyone regardless of how much each person ate. This is mainly applicable to diner and lunch.

If you happen to invite a Spaniard to have a drink with you, you should never expect them to accept the very first invite. This is a way of protecting themselves so that they do not give themselves up as being greedy. It is also a way to be polite. It is advisable that you make the same offer several times and gauge their response on the third offer as that is where you can tell if they are actually serious. If you are faced with such a thing, you should act as they do. Refuse saying that you would not want to cause a nuisance but if they do insist, accept and enjoy the offer.

It is very rare to find Spaniards eating or drinking on streets. Most bars seldom offer take away options but you can quite easily make a purchase of tapas. The doggy bag is still unfamiliar in Spain but is slowly gaining ground due to touristic influences. The older members of the country are still very rigid about this practice.
